Boston unstoppable in NBA
December 16th 2008 22:53
It seems no team can match it with reigning NBA champions, the Boston Celtics at the moment.
Boston defeated Utah Jazz 100-91 in an absorbing encounter, which signalled their 15th consecutive win, in a 25 match campaign that has only yielded two losses.
The furious start by Boston this season seems to have no brakes.
Last night, they defeated a valiant Jazz team at home to continue on their winning ways.
Indeed the last time the Celtics felt the cold hard snap of defeat was back on the 14th of November when they lost to the Denver Nuggets 94-85.
The grand figure for the Celtics in their win over Utah was Rajon Rondo, who scored a career high 25 points.
Rondo is astounded by the team's winning run but urges Boston to keep its head below the clouds.
"This winning streak is genius, but we can not lose sight of our main objective, which is to defend our NBA crown," he said.
Although Rondo was the star against the Jazz, he was well supported by experienced duo Kevin Garnett (19 points) and Kendrick Perkins (15 points).
For Utah, their effort against the Celtics away from home was valiant to say the least, emphasised by the brilliant performance of Paul Millsap, who scored a match and career high 32 points.
Despite his efforts, the Jazz are eager for the return of Carlos Boozer from injury.
