Brazilian players angry over Messi ovation

Iionel Messi and Anderson square off in yesterday's World Cup qualifier

Brazilian players manifested their anger yesterday in regards to the applause Argentine superstar Lionel Messi recieved in the goalless draw between Argentina and Brazil.

Brazil coach Carlos Dunga expressed his disappointment over the lack of support his national team recieved, despite playing a World Cup qualifier against their deadly arch nemesis.

"Its hard for one who is in their own country to take abuse from over 60,000 people all targeted at the coach of 'la seleccion' Dunga said.

Brazilian left-back Gilberto said there were great sacrifices made from many players tonight to produce a result against Argentina.

"We abandoned our own families to be in Mineirao and do the best we can to produce a result. We did not win but we forced ourselves".

Gilberto later said the ovation to Argentine star Lionel Messi was one that was difficult to take.

"Messi is a grand player of world football, but Brazil should be supporting us" he said.

Real Madrid midfielder Julio Baptista also expressed his anger over the critisim his team is recieving.

"Its very sad because when we play away, no one gives us support. Argentina have not conquered a tournament for years and they haven't beaten us in a fairwhile. Moreover, our supporters want to praise their players rather than our own".

Roma defender Juan protested his team is very sad over the backlash of negative support the national team has recieved.

"We are used to this now. Whenever we play in Brazil and achieve a negative result, things like this will always happen. I personally deplore this posture from our fans".

Brazil's next World Cup qualifier will be against Chile, while Argentina play current ladder leaders Paraguay.

fans shouldnt be discouraging their team to play well and they shouldnt be able to swap teams just because they are getting the results.
what happened to good old loyalty?
