Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been linked to a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid next season.
Despite having a contract at United that runs until 2012, the Portugese international has become discontent with the Premier league champions who have failed to pay his promised wage.
Ronaldo's representative has already begun talks with the La Liga champions who are already planning a record transfer for the United superstar.
The Premier league player of the year has scored 38 goals this season for United but is still waiting for the club to pay him his promised net salary which is approximately 13 million Euro a year.
The favourite for the Balon de Or 2008, Ronaldo will not rule out a move to the Bernabeu next season if his contract misconceptions continue to cause him grief.
Real Madrid is reportedly willing to break the transfer record for Ronaldo's signature. The spanish giants are preparing to offer the Portugese star in excess of 75 million euro which is more than Frenchman Zidane's record breaking contract.
If United are reluctant to release the player, Ronaldo will still fancy his chances of leaving Old Trafford through the expertise of Madrid president Ramon Caladron who has been interested in the player since April.
"He is one of those players that you always want in your team" Caladron said.
The Madrid president conceded though that United would always be a difficult club to negotiate with.
"Manchester has never been a club that likes to sell players and they will be keen to keep Ronaldo at all costs".
