February 18th 2009 22:09
Samuel Eto'o is now playing his best football for Barcelona in 2009/10, and has attracted the interest of AC Milan and Manchester City.
Eto'o has scored 23 goals in as many games for Barcelona so far this season. The Catalan club now wants to retain the striker who now has offers from Milan and Premier League outfit, Manchester City.
After being on the verge of leaving Barcelona last season due to poor form, new manager Pep Guardiola gave Eto'o another chance at redemption.
That piece of redemption has now provided winning returns for Guardiola. Eto'o has scored 23 goals in 23 games to see Barcelona on top of the La Liga table with three games to spare.
With Eto'o now leading the goal scoring charts in Spain, Milan and Manchester City are on the prowl for the inform striker.
Italian sports tabloid Gazzetta dello Sport says "Milan have already contacted Eto'o's manager a few months ago. Milan have since held secretive talks with his manager, who has been present at Milan."
With Eto'o presently keen to play in another league, Manchester City are also willing to fork out big dollars for the Cameroon international.
City are willing to pay 22 million Euros for Eto'o, who want him in England as soon as possible.
It seems Barcelona face an uphill battle in their pursuit to retain Eto'o for next season and beyond.
