Ginobili fires, San Antonio win

With 30 points from Manu Ginobili, San Antonio rose to the occasion at home and defeated the Lakers by 103-84 to keep the final alive after three matches. The Lakers now lead the series 2-1.
He was annoyed by his lucklustre performances in the first two games in the grand final of the Western conference. For that, as critical as he is, Ginobili said " if i would have played well, we wouldn't be two games down in the final and i knew this game would provide the true acid test".
An acid test it was and the Argentine superstar passed it with flying colours. He was the grand figure of the night as he top scored with 30 points along with MVP and Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant. In the end it was the difference as the Spurs muscled their way to a 103-84 victory.
Ginobili was in inspired form in the first-half as he scored 22 points to construct the Spurs authority on the night. He was the leader and Messiah for a Spurs side that is now one game behind from drawing the final against Los Angeles.
The Spurs frontman was effective throughout the contest as he scored when San Antonio needed it the most.
Despite trailing for most of the second quarter, the Spurs kicked into gear to score 11 consecutive points to take the lead 49-39 at halftime.
The reigning NBA champions than never looked headed as they pressured in defence and showed no mercy in attack as they raced away to lead by 69-57 at the final change.
Spurs frontman Tim Duncan was very effective on the night as he scored 22 points along with teammate Tony Parker to hand the Spurs a much needed victory.
In the final of the eastern conference, the Boston celtics took a 2-1 lead in their series against Detroit after beating the Pistons by 94-80.
The fourth match between the Spurs and the Lakers will be played in San Antonio tomorrow evening.
