Germany goalkeeper Jens Lehmann assured today he has, thanks to his former teammates at Arsenal, the recipe for detaining Manchester United superstar Christiano Ronaldo in their quarter final match up against Portugal.
"Ronaldo is a player that makes a difference just being who he is. Its a pleasure watching him play, but my teammates at Arsenal have found a very good recipe to keep him quiet". Lehmann said.
Lehmann, who after five seasons at Arsenal will head to play for Stuggart nest season, was reluctent to reveal the key ingredients to stopping the United ace.
"I'm not going to comment about this recipe now, but now i know how to play effeciently against him".
Lehmann however warned his German teammates of targeting Ronaldo alone and stressed the Portugese posess alot more attacking weapons than given credit for.
"They have other great attacking players. We will need to be well positioned in order to avoid them getting chances at goal".
Despite the attacking arsenal both sides posess, Lehmann believes the quarterfinal against Portugal could yield a penalty shoot-out. If so, the German goalkeeper made it clear he will ask for notes on the possible penalty takers for Portugal.
"Yes, i have made it clear i will be recieving notes on the possible penalty takers for the Portugese.
the German goalkeeper, who put Germany through to the semi-finals of the 2006 World Cup courtesy of his saves against Argentina, no doubt could be the difference in deciding this electric quarterfinal encounter.
