Let Ronaldo go - Tevez
July 25th 2008 01:30
Cristiano Ronaldo's desire to sign with Real Madrid has been supported by Manchester United teammate Carlos Tevez.
The Argentine striker said he understood the posture of Ronaldo's desire to leave Old Trafford, claiming "any player would love to play for Real Madrid".
However, Tevez conceded the recent dispute between Ronaldo and United has affected the club's positive atmosphere.
"When these things happen, neither side feels good. It would be great if we could keep him (Ronaldo) but all these comments of his transfer affect the great atmosphere of the team."
Tevez was also involved in a similar situation to that of the Portuguese superstar.
English Premier League club West Ham United were reluctant in letting Tevez head to Old Trafford despite the interest shown by Manchester.
The Argentine was eventually let go and in just one season at the 'Red Devils', won both the Premier League and Champions League titles.
Tevez said Ronaldo's personal wellbeing is of the most importance to him and the club.
"Manchester is a team with grand players, among those Cristiano Ronaldo, who forms a giant piece of our puzzle.
"But I think if he wants to move on, we all must respect his decision and move on ourselves."
