Nadal and Federer showcase brilliance

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have advanced to the third round in Beijing, with few problems.
The two best Tennis players at present did not show any mercy to their rivals. Federer defeated Salvadorian Arévalo (6-2, 6-4) while Nadal disposed of Australian hope Lleyton Hewitt (6-1, 6-2).
Federer will now play Igor Andreev while Nadal will pit his skills against Tomas Berdych.
Both Federer and Nadal allowed no room for surprises.
The respective leaders of Men's Tennis won their second round matches in Beijing without suffering. For now, they face little obstacle in challenging one another once again, this time for the gold medal.
Nadal was the first on court and raced faster than expected against former world no.1 Hewitt. The end result was a 6-1, 6-2 thrashing that ended all fitness speculation surrounding the new world no.1 after surviving a tough encounter against Italian Starace in the first round.
But against Hewitt, it only took an hour and a half to dispose of the Australian, who is too far now to claim back any of the form that made him world no.1.
When Nadal's session of brilliance was finished, Federer took the court. He was made to fight harder than the Spaniard but hardly raised a sweat against Salvadorian player Arevalo, who is ranked 434th in the ATP rankings.
In an hour and twenty seven minutes, the Swiss maestro was through to the next round after ridding himself of Arevalo with a 6-2, 6-4 scoreline.
On the road for Olympic gold in Beijing, none have been able to trouble two of the world's strongest icons in Tennis history.
Both Federer and Nadal remain on course for another meeting in the final that will no doubt give Tennis in the Olympics the recognition it desperately craves.
It is now up to Andreev and Berdych respectively to change what seems, an inevitable showdown.
