Mephis might have 'The Answer'

August 31st 2009 18:22
A few days ago, I was informed that the Grizzlies were interested in signing Allen Iverson. Firstly the information that was given to me, came from A.I's Twitter page. Not to say that Twitter isn't a reliable source of information, but I have my doubts about whether or not A.I is just playing games with us. I have heard a lot of outlandish statements and claims on Twitter, and I can safely say 80% of them were total B.S! I promised I wouldn't blog about it, but all doubts aside, what if this were actually to happen? We all know the Memphis Grizzlies could use Iverson!

The Next Generation
The Next Generation

Just think of the offensive powerhouse the Grizzlies could become with A.I. on their squad. Picture having Rudy Gay, O.J Mayo, Allen Iverson, Marc Gasol and Hasheem Thabeet as your stating 5. Then having Mike Conley, Marko Jaric and Darrell Arthur as potential Sixth men. Not to mention the rest of the bench, who I might add are quiet a talented bunch of ball players. Although Iverson is aging and his productivity seemed to have reduce last year after being traded; Iverson is still a 25pts and 8ast threat on an above average night. People have written him off way to soon. Iverson on his worst night, is better than 50% of the guards in the league (you know its true). I think he still has a lot of juice left in the carton. A move to Memphis might help A.I get back into the swing of things. You could clearly see that Detroit isn't the right place for him! Seeing A.I. coming off the bench, is like seeing Superman around Cryptonyte (It just ain't right!).

That's Right, I am Awesome!
That's Right, I am Awesome!

Allen Iverson is one of the greatest athletes of our time. Although he may not have been the easiest player to appreciate due to all the drama he has caused his fans and his team-mates. There is no way you can deny that Allen Iverson will go down as one of the greats. If Memphis can wok out some sort of deal to get A.I, he can immediately help Memphis win games. He can also help with inspiring and tutoring the newbie superstars (O.J Mayo, Rudy Gay and Mike Conley). Regardless of whether this will happen or not, I won't be disappointed. At least its has given me something to think about other than Health Care reform and the GFC.

Formula One team Red Bull have presented their new vehicle that will aim to win the F1 title in 2009.

After presenting the new Red Bull RB5 F1 race car, the team, which features Australian Mark Webber, is confident of being the protagonist for most of the F1 championship, which opens on the 29th of March in Australia.

Owner of Red Bull racing, Christian Horner expressed optimism in regards to Red Bull's chances of clinching an F1 title.

"Our team is now ready to take advantage of the new rules installed in the championship," he said.

Horner signalled special phrase for new German driver Sebastian Vettel, who he thinks has a great chance of grasping the title away from the clutches of Briton Lewis Hamilton.

"With these new rules in place, there is absolutely no doubt on why he cannot win the title this year."

Indeed Red Bull will be after a better finish in 2009, after finishing last year in seventh position.

Vettel is confident Red Bull could achieve mass improvement in the F1 season ahead.

"Our objective is to win, but our desire will not waste if we are thrown into tough positions," Vettel said.

"We just have to see how the rest of the competition plays out in comparison to how we perform on the circuit."

Vettel will have the first ride of Red Bull's new RB5 while his team-mate, Webber, will drive the new vehicle on Wednesday.

For Webber, it will be his first drive since he fractured his leg last year while riding a bicycle.

Phelps shows remorse for actions

February 6th 2009 01:40

Multiple Swimming Olympic champion Michael Phelps has revealed his thoughts about the photo which shows him smoking Marijuana.

While the image of Phelps taking Drugs is a hot topic for conversation, Phelps shed his own light on the matter plaguing his Swimming career.

"It is evident that I have done something wrong, Phelps says. "I do not feel any good for what I have done."

In an interview with the 'The Baltimore Sun', Phelps began talking about the incident which has now somewhat, tarnished his already successful career in Swimming.

Prior to training at the Meadowbrook Athletic Club of Baltimore, Phelps took the opportunity to show remorse for his actions.

"I have learn't from all my mistakes so far in my life and I will learn from this one.

"Learning from my actions has often made me a better person and that is what I will be striving to achieve starting now.

"It is clear doing what I did was neither good for me or my mother. It was a stupid mistake that will not be repeated."

If his comments are anything to go by, maybe Phelps can resume his career as the greatest Swimmer ever with relative ease.

Ferrari deal all but done for Alonso

December 28th 2008 23:40
Ferrari perhaps for Alonso?

Renault Formula 1 Driver Fernando Alonso has decided to ride with Ferrari at the start of 2011.

Italian sports tabloid La Gazzetta dello Sport, confirms that Alonso will switch from Renault to Ferrari in three years in a move they describe as a 'done deal'.

Alonso's new contract with Ferrari should last him three years, with an extension available until 2014.

Ferrari have also confirmed that Finland driver Kimi Raikkonen, who was world champion in 2007, will be the scapegoat for Alonso's arrival as the new Ferrari driver.

It seems Raikkonen's form has been in question of late and Ferrari are now willing to scrape him from their list, considering their other driver, Brazilian Felippe Massa, has his position secured.

President of Ferrari, Luca Montezemelo says the door has always been open for Alonso but also insists that current drivers Raikkonen and Massa are secure for the time being.

"We have two drivers currently under contract for two more years, but the future is still being looked at," Montezemelo said.

"Alonso is a grand champion and his life is large, albeit he is still young. His time will come with Ferrari."
