Opportunity lost for David Nalbandian

Recent Sydney champion David Nalbandian has highlighted the reasons over his second round Australian Open defeat to Taiwan player Yen-Hsun Lu.
Nalbandian is not one that gives too many excuses when it comes to suffering a loss.
When he confronted his press conference regarding his second round exit at the hands of Lu, the Argentine gave out the necessary praise to an opponent that is ranked a respectable 61 in the world.
"I do not know his ranking but if he continues to play like that, it is for a reason," Nalbandian said.
"He has already defeated a number of quality players on tour and today he showed why he continues to beat good players.
"He played a brilliant match today, better than me and he beat me well."
Despite the efforts from Lu, Nalbandian also admitted that he was not at his best level of Tennis.
"I let a great opportunity escape today. I did not serve well in the critical points and when I did find some regularity in my game, he tore it apart," Nalbandian said.
"I could not win any easy points on my serve and over the course of a five set match, things can get very complicated."
After his recent championship in Sydney, Nalbandian also revealed that he would have preferred to play on the second day of the Australian Open, considering he only had one day off after his triumph in the Medibank International.
"If I could have played on the Tuesday, I would have had a day to relax and adapt to the conditions more, but that is no excuse for the way I performed and lost today."
