Former AC Milan forward Ronaldo still holds dreams of playing for Brazil, with the 2010 World Cup just over a year away.
The Corinthians striker has made it his objective to score 30 goals this season in order to speak with Brazilian national coach Dunga, in regards to a return to the international scene.
Although the road back to glory is a long one, Ronaldo is confident he will find himself in a yellow jersey once again.
"I have to score about 30 goals to have a chance of talking with Carlos Dunga," Ronaldo said.
"The World Cup for me is the biggest tournament in the world and it would be a pleasure for me to compete in 2010."
While he has high hopes of a return, Ronaldo insists he is not up to the physical standard necessary to regain his place in Brazil's national team.
"I have not yet reached 100 percent. During my time with injury, I gained about 11 kilograms but I have already lost about eight of those kilos."
Although Ronaldo wants to play for Brazil again, his hopes of returning to Europe however seem diminished, considering he is very happy to be on native soil again.
"I feel great being back home playing for Corinthians," he says. "I doubt I will receive any offers from European clubs to play there again."
At 32 years of age, Ronaldo has battled three serious knee injuries in his time in Europe. In his prime however, he won three world player of the year awards.
