Portugese star Christiano Ronaldo has kept a move to the spanish capital alive after confessing his desire to play for La Liga giant Real Madrid.
Despite having a contract at English and European champion Manchester United until 2012, Ronaldo still holds massive hope for playing in the Bernabeu in the not too distant future.
The United superstar, who finished with 41 goals in all competitions this season, also hinted that anything could develop in the next couple of weeks.
"Throughout the course of the next two weeks, anything is possible" Ronaldo said.
"I have always dreamed of playing for Real Madrid. You also have dreams aswell and this is mine".
Ronaldo told Portugese television that his playing days at United will come under the microscope as he weighs up his options.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be very displeased with Ronaldo's possible transfer and has questioned Madrid's moral values over other clubs in Europe.
"They believe they can roll over anyone in Europe but it won't happen with us" Ferguson said.
After winning the Champions League and English Premier League, Ronaldo is set to cap off a tremendous season with the FIFA world player of the year award which is currently occupied by Milan and Brazilian maestro Kaka.
If Real Madrid are to sign the United superstar, it is believed they will have to break the world record transfer fee held by French icon ZInedine Zidane, who was signed to "Los Merengue" from Juventus for a staggering €76 million back in 2001.
