The most hyped college football game in 2011
November 4th 2011 20:15
I'd like to go down on record as saying this LSU-Alabama college football game is the most hyped game this season. That will include all the post season games as well because a game cannot get played up anymore than this one in the media. Almost every night this week ESPN has been sending Erin Andrews into Les Miles' office to get interviews, sound, and reaction. Wonderful stuff but when is enough enough?
To be honest this should be a great game but I don't doubt for a second there are some other teams that could at least be competitive with LSU and Alabama if they matched up with either one. Arguments aside, the football team Stanford currently has (throw out their history) is the best the school has ever seen. They have the best QB in the nation while Alabama and LSU have been playing "you're in now you're out" QB systems flipping between two options. Neither of which compare to some of the schools with accomplished QBs with a legitimate shot to be drafted in the pro ranks.
What really makes LSU and Alabama great is their defense, which should provide enough headaches especially coming off a bye for Jarrett Lee, Jordan Jefferson, Phillip Sims, and A.J. McCarron respectively. Alabama is a 4.5 point favorite at this juncture and I am always a believer in the most popular game on TV is hardly the best game on the board to bet. Rest assured this game will probably have the biggest handle because there are a lot of college football fans who want to have some action on the two best teams in the nation right now on a Saturday night.
I am also writing now for Examiner.com as an "SF Sports Betting" writer and I want to further look into this game from a pointspread perspective of course. I will be posting an article along with an opinion on the side and total for this anticipated matchup for entertainment purposes later today. Check it out.
