United ace confident of individual glory

Cristiano Ronaldo says he deserves the ‘Balon De Or’ that awards the title of best European player cast by France football.
The verdict will be decided on December 2 and the other prime candidates for the award include Lionel Messi and Fernando Torres.
But Ronaldo has no doubt that he will win the prestigious award. The Portuguese footballer confirmed it in an interview with Italian tabloid 'La Gazzetta dello Sport'.
"No one has achieved more than me to win the thing," Ronaldo says. " I think I have a real sincere chance of winning the prize but there are another two or three players that deserve it as well.
"But if the Balon De Or truly values on what one player did for the majority of a season, I consider myself the prime candidate to win the award."
Indeed Ronaldo will be sincerely confused if his name is not read out for one of football's most prestigious individual honours.
"What would a player need to do if he has already won the Premier League and the Champions League in the same season to get their hands on the Balon De Or?"
Probably the only moment capable of casting Ronaldo's confident mind in doubt is his Euro 2008 performance, where he says he played badly because of injury.
"It was torture. In the matches I was playing in Euro, I felt as if a knife was impaled in my ankle. I really had to grind my teeth. It was psychological torture as well.
