United want 100 million for Ronaldo

English champions Manchester United confirmed Real Madrid will have to loft out a record breaking offer for Portugese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in order to secure his services.
Spanish media have made it clear Madrid's offer of 85 million euro will not be enough for United to give up Ronaldo - who won a Premier League and Champions League title last season with the 'red devils'.
The opera surrounding Ronaldo's future seems to have no end. Despite the large offer from Madrid, United have made it clear they intend to keep Ronaldo by any means necessary.
Madrid, who reportedly offered Ronaldo 100 million euro, will now have to break the world record transfer fee for a player set in 2001 when French icon Zinedine Zidane moved from Juventus to Madrid for 75 million euro.
Spanish tabloid 'Marca' confirmed Madrid will not offer more than what is currently on the table.
"Manchester United now know that Real Madrid will offer 85 million euro for Cristiano Ronaldo, not one euro more. But in Old Trafford they want more and do not appear keen on letting the Portugese player go for less than 100 million".
The history seems to have no conclusion. Firstly, Madrid intended on convincing Ronaldo to jump ship, but the most difficult aspect of this situation will be United giving the Portugese superstar the green light to proceed.
No doubt if the Spanish giants want his signature, they will have to fork out the biggest check world football has seen for a player of Ronaldo's status.
