Argentina have defeated World champion Holland by 2-0 to keep themselves in the box seat for a place in the final in the Champions Trophy in Mönchengladbach.
Rebecchi and Three time world player of the year Luciana Aymar scored both goals to seal victory and secure a place in the final if they beat or draw with fellow heavweight Germany.
The Argentine side played their best hockey of the tournament to date to clearly outplay the Dutch and now find itself one game away from contesting the trophy that unites the six best female hockey teams in the world.
After a start that left the South American giants in a spot of bother (A loss to China first up and a narrow victory over Japan), Argentina have shown their championship credentials with wins over heavyweights Australia and Holland to catipult their chances of Champions trophy glory alive.
"Las Leonas" made the breakthrough in the first half when Rebecchi scored in just the 13th minute of play.
Just four minutes later, star midfielder Luciana Aymar sealed the victory for her side after a terrific solo effort was later finished in style.
In today's other matches, Germany defeated China by 2-0 to propel them to the top of the table along with Argentina each on nine points. World champion Holland are next on six points and are the only team still capable of challenging both Germany's and Argentina's stranglehold of playing in the final. Australia, China and Japan are all out of the running and will simply be playing for pride this Saturday.
The final round of the Champions trophy will be completed this weekend where Argentina will only need a draw against the Germans to qualify for the final. If they lose however, Holland must beat Australia to ensure their place in the deciding fixture of the tournament.
